Olive Nealy Vrotney, 78, formerly of Brackenridge, passed away suddenly at home Tuesday, August 16, 2022. She was born October 21, 1943 in Natrona Heights to the late Alvin and Alvassa (Beaver) Crawford. Nealy lived most of her life in Brackenridge and was of the Presbyterian faith. She worked in housekeeping at Georgian Manor and also at Allegheny Valley Hospital. Nealy was a 50-year member of Pioneer Hose Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She graduated from Freeport High School and enjoyed bingo, baking, cooking, playing Tripoli, cards and jitter bug dancing. She especially enjoyed her friends at Dalton’s edge and her family.
Survivors include her children Michelle L. (Marcus) Strobel-Fike, of Penn Hills, Michael E. Vrotney, of Tarentum and Melissa J. (Charon Whaley) Vrotney, of Brackenridge; grandchildren Marcus Fike, III, Megan Tate, Samuel J. Vrotney, Madelaine E. Vrotney, and Maria N. Natskakula. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by 3 sisters Audrey Hanosky, Bertha Hinkle and Alvassa Thomson and grandson Qwinn Ballard.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon with Rev. Dean Ward, officiating. Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. VISIT: dusterfh.com
