Patrick J. Fitzmaurice, Sr.

Patrick J. “Son” Fitzmaurice, Sr., 87, of Brackenridge, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born July 7, 1933 in Tarentum to the late Patrick E. and Mary (Martz) Fitzmaurice. Patrick lived the past 50 years in Brackenridge and prior to that Tarentum and Springdale. He was a retired Linguist for the US Army and also 23 years with the Veterans Administration. Patrick was of the Catholic faith and a 1952 graduated of Springdale High School. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. He also enjoyed classic movies and was a patron of the Pittsburgh Ballet.

            Survivors include his wife Alice A. (Yeterian) Fitzmaurice, his children Patrick “PJ” (Amy) Fitzmaurice, of Natrona Heights, Robert “Bob” Fitzmaurice, of St. Petersburg, FL and Susan A. (Andrew) Kolek, of South Buffalo Township; grandchildren Logan Fitzmaurice, of Brackenridge, and Brittany and Drew Kolek, of South Buffalo Twp. Also surviving are two sisters Barbara Smail, of Leechburg and Carol McKenzie, of Tucson, AZ. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Fitzmaurice, son James “Jimmy” Fitzmaurice and his siblings Eleanor Di Giacobbe, Margaret “Peg” Meyers and William “Bill” Fitzmaurice.

            At the request of the family, all services and burial in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Twp. were private. Arrangements by Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Family suggests contributions to St. Jude Hospital or Allegheny Valley Salvation Army.
