Paul David Bartell, 81, of Brackenridge passed away on May 6th, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born August 29th, 1942, he was a pillar in the Highlands and Brackenridge community, and will be dearly missed by many. In his long 81 years of life, Paul touched the lives of countless people. He was a beloved teacher and coach of 30 years for Highlands School District-coaching football, wrestling, and golf.
Paul was born, raised, and lived his entire life in Brackenridge. He was commonly seen enjoying his daily walks throughout the community, regularly dining at Massart’s, and perfectly manicuring his lawn. Paul was a man of the world. His love of Penn State and his memories from his time at West Liberty University was only eclipsed by his love of traveling the world with his wife and family. Paul loved his family, and they adored him. They will fondly remember him on a sunny summer day, when they smell an aromatic cigar, and when they hear the familiar lyrics of a “rat-pack” tune.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret, his sister Stephanie (Ted) Wrobel, and nephew Teddy Wrobel. He is survived by his wife, Judith Bartell, his step-children, Jon (Amanda) Whisinnand, Michael (Robin) Whisinnand, grandchildren, Cody (Jordan) Whisinnand, Tyler (Bailey) Whisinnand, Mason Whisinnand, and Laken Whisinnand, and nieces and nephews, Melanie (Jim), Jared, and Seth Thomas, Cara Perez, and Taylor Wrobel.
In line with his wishes, Paul passed away peacefully, in his family home. As an avid fan of Frank Sinatra, Paul passed away as he lived his life…he did it his way.
All services for Paul will be private to the family. Arrangements entrusted to Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum. 724-224-1526. VISIT:dusterfh.com
