Paul Veremeychik, 92, formerly of Brackenridge passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at the home of his niece, Joyce (Thomas) Priest with whom he made his home in Morrison, Colorado. He was born October 5, 1925 in Natrona to the late Mina and Anna (Sudia) Veremeychik. He has lived the past 6 months in Colorado prior to that most of his life in Brackenridge. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII in the Pacific area. Paul was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Catholic Church, New Kensington, American Legion, Oregon Hunting and fisherman’s club, Elks and VFW Post 5758 in Tarentum, Eagles and Moose, New Kensington, New Kensington Musical Society and local 630 AF of M. He graduated in 1943 from Har Brack High school and enjoyed bowling, golf and music. Paul was the church choir director for 47 years. He played the trumpet with Blue notes for many years and many other bands within area.
Survivors include 8 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers George and Dr. Ted Veremeychik and a sister Mildred Haney.
Visitation 6-8 PM Friday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a blessing service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by an Orthodox Funeral service at 10 am in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Catholic Church, New Kensington with Rev. William J. Evansky, Dean of the NW Deanery (OCA), officiating. Burial in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Parastas will be held in the funeral home, Fri at 7PM. VISIT: dusterfh.com
