Phyllis E. (Sherman) Dougherty, 70, of Brackenridge, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Pittsburgh after being ill the past 6 months. She was born December 16, 1951 in Harrison Township to the late Edward H. and Mary (Larkin) Sherman. Phyllis lived most of her life in Tarentum and Brackenridge. Upon graduating from Highlands High School in 1969 she enrolled at Franco’s Beauty Academy. As a beautician she worked at various beauty shops. Later doing hair out of her home and going to senior hi rises as well as working for a local funeral home. After her sons graduated, she was employed at Lake Region Medical in RIDC Park, holding various positions in production and inspection. Phyllis was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved and cherished her family and Maley her Yorkiepoo. She loved to do crafts with her grandchildren whom she totally adored.
Surviving to mourn her loss are her husband of 51 years. Jerry R. Dougherty; sons David A. (Heather) Dougherty, of Buffalo Twp. and Glenn E. (Kelli) Dougherty, of Natrona Heights and her grandchildren Ethan and Erin Dougherty of Sarver. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her twin daughters Elaine and Eileen and a brother Michael Sherman.
Visitation 5-8 PM Friday and Saturday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona heights. VISIT: dusterfh.com
