Ralph L. “Fritz” McClain, 80, of Brackenridge, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights following a lengthy illness, with his family by his side. He was born July 13, 1940 in Harrison Township to the late Ralph R. and Betty (Luh) McClain. Fritz lived most of his life in Brackenridge and Natrona Heights where he was the owner/operator of the Saxon Inn, Restaurant and Bar in Natrona Heights for 45 years. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a life member of Citizens Hose, Natrona Heights and former member of Tarentum Elks. Fritz graduated from New Kensington High school and was an avid Steelers fan. Fritz enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. Fritz loved and enjoyed his many customers who were also his friends.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Kathy (Vertosick) McClain; his daughters Lisa (Bill) Hall, of Wampum, PA, Michelle (Adam) Gutonski, of Natrona Heights and Josie McClain; 5 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Also surviving are his siblings, Jerry McClain, Karen Ostroski, Linda Ostroski, Connie Matsik and Judy Ruemmler. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a step father Lou Ostroski and a step mother Eleanor (Schaeffer)McClain.
A private family visitation was held Wednesday from 3 PM until the time of service at 6 PM in Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial will be private. VISIT: dusterfh.com
