Richard A. Gablick

Richard Gablick, 59, formerly of Brackenridge and currently of Santa Fe, NM, lost his brave battle with cancer Tuesday, November 13, 2018, while close friends, Cathy and Lori, were at his side.  The youngest of five, he was born November 5, 1959 in Natrona Heights to Anne Yvonne (Miller) Lionelli. After graduating Highlands High School in 1978, he worked as a counselor for Family Services in Tarentum for over 15 years. Nearly a decade ago he pursued his creative passions and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. He found work at IAIA, a Native American Community College where he also attended classes.  He enjoyed Santa Fe, especially the Art Community.  He worked part time as a make-up artist for various films that were shot in Santa Fe including 2013’s The Lone Ranger starring Johnny Depp.  He enjoyed painting, photography, landscaping and playing his guitar. He defined the word “artsy.”  Out of all his many artistic talents, music was his greatest passion. He made various short films and music videos that he shared on Facebook.  He was also a sports trivia junky.  He could talk for hours about games and statistics. He was an avid Pittsburgh fan and Roberto Clemente was his favorite player. But he also had a deep love for the Green Bay Packers that started at a young age.  Though he lived in Santa Fe a good portion of his life, he remained close to many friends and family members back home. He will be deeply missed. 

He was preceded in death by his loving mother Anne Yvonne Lionelli and his beloved stepfather, Mario Lionelli.  He left behind 4 siblings, Michaelene Voss, Kansas, Diane (Gene) Ross, Fawn Twp., Paul Gablick, Tarentum, Timothy (Maryann) Lionelli, Monroeville.  Also, Aunt Lorraine Lionelli and Uncle Reid (Karen) Miller and many nieces and nephews.  Richard faced his illness with a positive attitude.  He was a generous and caring person with a heart of gold.  He has been an inspiration to all of us.
