Richard W. Rhine

Richard William Rhine, 56, formerly of Natrona Heights. Passed away Monday, September 25, 2023. He was born February 8, 1967 in New Kensington, Pa. Beloved son of Richard L. Rhine and Judith A. Sobotka. Rick was a graduate of Saint Joes Catholic High School in Natrona Heights. Rick worked as a bartender at Toscana Brick Oven in South Point, Canonsburg and prior worked 17 years at Duquesne University in catering.

Anyone who would get to know him loved him . He was considerate, polite, and a loving man. He loved his family so much. Rick had a huge heart and empathy for others. Rick had a great sense of humor, his own goofy way.

Rick enjoyed cooking, music, drawing, swimming and all his pets, margaritas, going to the gym .  Rick talked to his best friend Maureen A. Zilner every day. He loved his nephews and nieces and would light up when he would see them.

Survived by his parents Rickard L. Rhine and Judith Sobotka, his sister Laura Johnston (Bill Buzza), his brothers Patrick (Kaylyn) Sobotka, Zakary (Jenn) Sobotka.

Nephews: Sean (Lynsay) Jack, Justin Johnston, William Wolf, Tyler Kotek, Blake Sobotka, Greyson Sobotka and Landry Sobotka.

Nieces: Kristina Kotek, Jocelyn Young, Lexi and Rylee Sobotka

Uncle Bill (Lynn) Hewitt, Aunt Eileen (Rhine) Chelgren, cousins Liam Hewitt, Jamie Petitt, Brandi Karnes.

Preceded in death by stepdad Patrick Sobotka and stepmom Judy A. Rhine.

Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace.
