Richard F. Thome

            Richard F. Thome, 76, of Winfield Township, passed away at home, Wednesday, April 19, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born October 10, 1946 in Harrison Township, to the late Jules and Gladys (Frederick) Thome. Richard was a Postal clerk and also worked at the Valley News Dispatch for 15 years.  He was a veteran of the US Army and member of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Joseph Church, Cabot. Richard graduated from Har Brack High School in 1964 and enjoyed bowling, camping and kayaking. He especially enjoyed his family, children and grandchildren.

            Survivors include his wife of 53 years Gloria (Zagst) Thome; his sons Richard D. (Kristy) Thome and Gregory S. Thome, both of Cranberry. Also surviving are his grandson Cole and Kyle Thome. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Jules Thome and sister Nellie Virag.

            Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 AM in St. Joseph Church, Cabot. Burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights with military honors.
