Roberta E. "Bobbie" Shank

            Roberta E. “Bobbie” Shank, 82, of Fawn Township, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 19, 1938 in Harwick to the late Robert S. and Bernice O. (Carroll) McWhirter. Roberta has lived the past 50 years in Fawn Twp. where she was a homemaker and member of Center United Methodist Church. Roberta graduated in 1956 from Deer Lakes High School.  She was known as Mrs. Claus at the Eat ‘N Park (Pittsburgh Mills) and Jenn’s Play Care (North Apollo). She loved giving out toys and coins with her husband Richard. She was a former member of Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society and former Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. She painted and taught ceramic classes at her home. Roberta loved to go to Apollo-Ridge and Freeport Buffalo Elementary Schools to paint ceramics with the kids in her grandchildren’s class as well as children with disabilities. She enjoyed going to craft shows with her ceramics.

            Survivors include her husband of 64 years Richard K. Shank, Sr.; children Richard K. (Carla) Shank, Jr., of Apollo and Nancy Hill, of Sarver; grandchildren Richard C. Shank, of Wexford, Michael (Tina Arduini) Shank, of MI, Tamara Shank, of Vandergrift, Shannon E. (Matt) Provanzo Hill, of FL, Jeffrey Hill, Jr., of Sarver and Shane Paul ( Fiancee, Kristen Brothers) Hill, of Sarver; great grandchildren Cady, Finn and Maiya Shank. Also surviving are her siblings Ralph (Joyce) McWhirter, of Lancaster, Margaret Ramage, of  KY and sister-in-law Beverly Meseradino, of NY. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Bruce Shank in 1982 and a brother Lewis McWhirter.

            Visitation will be Monday January 25 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1PM in Center United Methodist Church, 1575 Donnellville Rd, Tarentum, PA 15084 with Rev.
