Ronald D. O’Brokta, 81, of Allegheny Township, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born May 19, 1941 in Saxonburg to the late Albert J. and Rose M. (Seliga) O’Brokta, Sr. Ronald lived in Allegheny Township for the last 50 years and was an Electrical Engineer Technician for Westinghouse Research in Churchill for 39 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era serving in the US Army. Ronald was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Freeport, NRA and the American Legion, Vandergrift. He graduated from German Township High School, Uniontown, PA. Ronald enjoyed farming, hunting, target shooting and especially enjoyed his family, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Darlene A. (Yut) O’Brokta, daughter Ashley R. (Jason) Emerick, of Allegheny Township; grandchildren Sawyer, Wyatt and Talia. Also surviving is his brother Albert J. O’Brokta, Jr. and Partner Janice Zahurak, of Fawn Twp. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John O’Brokta.
Visitation 9-11 AM Monday in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon, Monday in St. Mary R.C. Church, Freeport with Monsignor Gilbert Gente, officiating.
