Rose Marie Hensel

     Rose Marie Hensel, 92, of Tarentum passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home on June 14, 2024. She was born January 14, 1932 in Tarentum to the late Mathias and Margaret (Collins) Thimons. Rose Marie lived her entire life in Tarentum and graduated from Tarentum High School. She was a devout Catholic and member of Guardian Angels Parish, Our Lady of Victory Church, as well as a past member of Christian Mothers of Holy Martyrs Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crossword puzzles, and especially spending time with her loving family.

    Survivors include daughter JoAnn (Mark) George of Lower Burrell, son Michael P. (Suzan) Hensel of Frazer Township, daughter Judith M. (Joseph) Strehlen of Irwin, son Matthias “Matt” Hensel of Tarentum. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren; Julie (Matt) Smith, Justin (Emily) Hensel, Shane Hensel, Kaitlin (Bret) Bucciarelli, and Sara Strehlen, and 7 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband Henry P. “Harry” Hensel, daughters Mary Rose Hensel and Margaret Michaels, 4 brothers, Joseph, Mathias, Theodore, and William Thimons, and 6 sisters, Gertrude Mastro, Anna Horzempa, Elizabeth Porter, Mildred Magnetta, Margaret Rulis, and an infant sister Kathleen Thimons. 

   Visitation 1-5 PM Sunday in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass will be held Monday at 10 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church, Harwick with Fr. Andrew Fischer officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart-St. Peter Cemetery, Tarentum.
