Samuel T. Means, 86, of Fawn Twp., passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Magnolia Place, Saxonburg. He was born July 15, 1935 in Tarentum to the late James C. and Edith (Atkinson) Means. Sam was a native of the area and lived his entire life in the Tarentum, Natrona heights and Fawn Township communities. He was a graduate of Tarentum High School and member of Trinity United Methodist Church Brackenridge. Sam was proud to have been a Machinist Forman for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge for 32 years. Sam enjoyed working, hunting, and spending time on the family farm in Fawn Township. He especially enjoyed flying small planes, traveling and spending quality time with his family and loved ones.
Survivors include his sister Rachel Glenn, of FL; his children Melissa Means, of MD, Rebecca (Samuel) Andrew, of Fawn Twp., and Patricia (Jeff) Spracklen, of OH. His grandchildren, Clinton (Katie) Markwell and Benjamin (Kate) Markwell and his great grandchildren Julian, Tristan and Evelyn Markwell and Isabella Spracklen, as well as, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his long-time companion Mary Agnes Reiger, of Brackenridge and her children; brother-in-law William H. Bigley, Jr., of Fawn Twp., and sister-in-law Nancy J. Bigley, of OH. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann “Bugs” (Bigley) Means; his brothers William, David, Charles and Richard Means and sisters Marion Faustin and Jane Jester.
