Shane M Slobada

 Shane M. Slobada,44 of Gibsonia, Richland Twp. passed away on Friday, Dec 31,2021 following a courageous 3-year  battle with cancer.  He was born April 12,1977  to John R. & Patricia A. (Sysyn)  Slobada of Fawn Twp.

Shane lived in the Gibsonia area for a number of yrs, and was an Elementary teacher in the Deer Lakes School District . He  was of the Catholic  faith, and a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association ,and the Deer Lakes Education Association.

Shane  graduated from  Highlands High School 1n 1995 and received his BA degree from Slippery Rock University. Shane was an avid sports enthusiast and known as the "go to" guy for any sports related opinions and stats. He kept score for the Deer lakes basketball team, and coached girl’s volleyball. He loved music and his all-time  favorite band was Clutch.

Besides his parents he is survived by his wife of 5 yrs. ,Barbara J. (Gibson) Slobada ,and step children  Samantha (Dane)  Jones, Natrona Heights, Daniel  Starr ,Newport Beach, VA, 2 step grandchildren,  Brynlee and  Jameson  Jones  of  Natrona  Heights, his siblings, Aaron (Michelle)  Slobada ,Carniege,and Twin Sister Tamara  Slobada ,Natrona Heights,and a niece and nephew ,Arya, and Adam  Slobada. He was preceded in  death by  his sister, Melody  Duffalo  in 2006.

Visitation will be Monday, from 3:00 PM  to 7: 00 PM in the Duster Funeral Home,Inc. 347 East 10^th Ave, Tarentum where a Blessing Service will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Holy Savior Cemetery, Gibsonia.

In lieu of flowers, the  family suggests that you donate  blood, or platelets to your local blood bank,or make a monetary donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
