Shannon R. McKruit

Shannon Renee McKruit, 52, of Tarentum, PA, originally of New Castle, PA, passed away at her residence on September 24, 2023.  Born August 28, 1971 in Natrona Heights, PA, she was the daughter of Dolores A. Butera and the late Edward A. McKruit.  She is survived by her companion of 28 years, Richard Heuser.  

Shannon graduated from Shenango High School in New Castle in 1989 and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She was employed by Eureka Community Ambulance Service for many years as a paramedic, EMS Manager. 

Her loving spirit will be missed by all whose lives she touched and most especially by her companion, mother, and two sisters, DeAnna McMillen (Jeff) and Kellie Jo Gallagher (Jason).  She was always proud of her niece, Kaylee Gallagher, and her nephews Liam Gallagher, Jacob and Matthew McMillen.  Additionally, she will be missed by her Aunt Mary Ann Farione. She always enjoyed the company of her beloved dogs, Ramsey, Ashes, and Dexter.  Shannon was preceded in death by her father, Edward A. McKruit, and by her step-father, James S. Butera.
