Stanley Maroni, 93, of Tarentum, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. He was born May 6, 1925 in Arnold, PA to the late Ubaldo and Philomena (DiPalo) Maroni. Stanley lived most of his life in the local area. He was an Operator/ Glass worker for the former American St. Gobain for 28 years and a Coal miner at Renton and Barking Mines for 13 years. Stanley was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army. A member of Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum, Brackenridge American Legion, Tarentum Eagles and the Oregon Hunting & Fishing Club, Brackenridge. Stanley was an avid sports fan and enjoyed football, baseball and fishing. He especially enjoyed his family, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children Maureen L. (Densier) Carnes, Atlanta, GA, Mark A. (Sherry) Maroni, Tarentum, Martin A. (Susan) Maroni, Shaler Twp. and Matthew P. (Cherie) Maroni, Plum Boro; grandchildren Kristina E. (John) Reid, New Kensington, Edward S. (Marni) Freshwater, Brian (Julie) Freshwater and Jaime (Kim) Freshwater, all of Atlanta, GA, Connor M. and Andrew D. Maroni, Shaler Twp. and Christian P. Maroni, Miami, FL and Juliet Maroni, Columbia, SC. Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elfa (Perotti) Maroni 2009; Brother Richard Maroni and 3 sisters Josephine Frena, Julia Michaels and Vivian McAnulty.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:20 am followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 am in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum with Rev. Thomas L. Gillespie, MD, officiating. Burial with Military honors in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. Oregon club will meet in the Funeral Home Wed at 7PM. VISIT: dusterfh.com
