Stephen Edward Hranica, 69, of Leechburg, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He was born September 24, 1956 in Natrona Heights, son of the late Stephen P. and Margaret (Flick) Hranica. Stephen graduated from Freeport High School in 1974, and was the owner of Steve Hranica Refuse. He also worked for Tri Valley Garbage Service, J.P. Greco and Pitt Penn Recycling. Stephen loved being a truck driver. He cooked and loved eating all Slovak foods, and had the most generous heart to help anyone. He was a member of the CLOA Club, Free Mason’s, Freeport Lodge, was a Syria Shriner and also belonged to the United Steel Worker’s Union. Stephen loved his beloved basset hound, Lucy. The family would like to give a special thank you to East End Rehab for their special care and love they gave to Steve.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Pamela (Parise) Hranica; his children Ryan (Vanessa) Hranica, of Allegheny Twp., and Laura (Michael) John, of Hartselle, Alabama. Grandchildren Alyssa Hodnik, Sophia Hranica and Max Hranica. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda (Allen) Graham and Shirley (Barry) Lucas; father-in-law Joseph A. Parise, mother-in-law Laura Marie Parise and brother-in-law Les Parise.
