Steve J. Sutara

Steve J. Sutara, 93 of Fawn Twp., passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born January 6, 1930 in Fawn Township to the late Frank and Mary (Tabacjar) Sutara. Steve lived his entire life in Fawn Township. He was a line supervisor for PPG Industries and retired in 1991. Steve was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean era. He was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights and a 1948 graduate of Tarentum High School. Steve loved nature, enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, landscaping and wood working. He also was an animal lover and horse trainer. Steve especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mildred S. (Svezeny) Sutara; his children Marlene R. (David Weakland) Sutara, of Wexford, Lorraine E. (Larry) Sevich, of Chagrin Falls, OH, Steve J. (Rebecca) Sutara, of Buffalo Twp., Joan E. (Paul) Giel, of Strongsville, OH, Sharon M. (Michael) Fischer, of Glenside, PA and Anita (Kevin) Greathouse, of Red Lion, PA. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank, Joseph, John, Paul Sutara, Sister Mary Genevieve Sutara, Mary Drotar and Ann Gaworski.

Visitation 9-11 AM Monday in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Christian funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 noon in Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Campus, Natrona Heights. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp. with military honors.
