Ted J. Gaworski, 85, of Lower Burrell passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, February 7, 2026, after a brief illness at Allegheny Valley Hospital. He was born May 12, 1940, in Harrison Township to the late Marcel and Helen (Turowski) Gaworski.
Ted was a 1958 graduate of Har-Brack High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis on board of the U.S.S. Northampton. He was trained as a Navy Lithographer and after his service, was employed at Allegheny Label Inc for 21 years. He enjoyed life to the fullest including skiing all over the U.S., as well as in Europe, and an avid golfer and hunter. Ted loved going to the casinos, watching Steelers games, and spending time with his family, especially with his dog, Lacey.
He is survived by sister-in-law, Evie Gaworski, nieces and nephews, Sharyn Zack, Kris Hepler, Jamie Gaworski, Kathy Mazary, Bonnie Kuniak, Pam Tantlinger, Bill Kesler, Mark and Anthony Scalise and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Sullivan, Irene Kesler, Marcy Scalise, Jenny “Jane” Collings, Alfred “Fritz” Gaworski, Edward Gaworski, Joseph and Thomas Gaworski, nephews, Curtis Kesler, Frank Scalise, and Terry Gaworski and niece, Paula Sheehan.
He has been home-bound for the last few years, and the family wants to extend their heartfelt thanks to his wonderful caretakers, Denise Waterloo, Johne Tady, Mary Blacki, and Daniel Stouffer.
Viewing will be 4-6 P.M. Tuesday in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, PA 724-224-1526. Private burial will be at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. VISIT:dusterfuneralhomeinc.com
