Terrence A. “Terry” Gaworski, 67, of Buffalo Township, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 following a brief illness at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in Harrison Township to Eva “Evie” (Carney) Gaworski, of Natrona Heights and the late Alfred Gaworski. Terry lived the past 35 years in Buffalo Township.
Where does someone start when writing about the adventures of the larger than life, Terrence (Terry) Gaworski. He was born March 19, 1955 and was part of the graduating class from Highlands High School, 1973.In his youth,Terry was an Eagle Scout with Troop 186, Birdville . He continued his education before graduating from Indiana University of PA with a degree in Criminology. He took a job with Hills Dept. Store, holding a role as part of the security team before eventually becoming a manager within various locations across PA and WV. Terry was ambitious and pursued an opportunity to become a manager with Prudential Insurance before joining a partnership with Balicki Insurance. Terry was a natural businessman with a knack for getting to know and then remembering every person who ever crossed his path, and being genuinely interested in them. His love of sports was present throughout his life, from playing baseball in high-school and college to then coaching his boys with the Armstrong Amateur hockey league, and YMCA floor hockey. Terry became ill at the age of 42 which changed the trajectory of his life from a physical standpoint. Despite his disability, Terry loved playing in beach Bocci tournaments, a competitive game of mini golf, and he was a candy crush extraordinaire. His children and then grandchildren, who endearingly called him "pappy" were his pride and joy. His sidekick, Chloe, was never far from him, certainly for the generous treats. His loving wife of 44 years, never once left his side; his best friend and caregiver, Lori. There wasn't a challenge they didn't face together. Terry was never one to miss a party, and certainly never missed a sporting event of one of the grandkids. He was always sideline or rink-side... now forever, he'll have the best seat in the house to watch over his family.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Alfred "Fritz" Gaworski and in-laws Frank and Vera Sistek. He is survived by his loving mother, Evie Gaworski, 91, of Natrona Heights, his wife of 44 years, Lori (Sistek) Gaworski of Buffalo Twp. Children, Derik (Lindsay) Gaworski, Dustin (Ashley) Gaworski, Douglas (Brittany) Gaworski and 7 beautiful grandchildren, Brooks, Chase, Anabelle, Kennedy, Deckard, Madeline, and Landon. He is also survived by his brother, Jamie (Ellie) Gaworski, and sisters Sharyn (Don) Zack, Kristin (Dave) Hepler of Buffalo Twp. He was also survived by an incredible and large extended family.
