Theona C. Hanz

Theona C. (Baker) Hanz, 93, of Lower Burrell, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot. She was born October 7, 1924 in Creighton to the late William and Katherine (Berger) Baker. Theona lived most of her life in Lower Burrell. She was a homemaker and also worked in housekeeping for Bel Air Nursing home for a number of years. She was a member of Hillcrest Alliance Church, Lower Burrell and attended Harvest Baptist Church, Natrona Heights. Theona graduated from East Deer High School and enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening.

            Survivors include her children Steve A. (Ottalee Roell) Hanz, Jr., Buffalo Twp., Katherine A. (Stanley) Kengor, Jr., Washington, and Rose M. (Chuck) Bollinger, Lower Burrell. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Steven, Scott and Shawn Hanz and Brian and Matt Kengor and 11 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Steve A. Hanz, Sr.; brothers Howard, Walt & William Baker and sisters Elsie Mahaffey and Helen Caporelli.

            Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 where services will be Friday at 11 AM with Rev. Dennis Smith, officiating.
