Theresa M. Krofchik, 82, formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Snyder, Texas. She was born February 16, 1943 in Harrison Township, a daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Olszewski) Nitowski. Theresa lived most of her life in Natrona Heights and has spent the past year in Texas. She was an administrative assistant in the accounting department of the Valley News for 30 years. Theresa was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum and a 1960 graduate of Har Brack High School. She was an avid traveler with her husband, traveling all over the world and she especially loved Las Vegas. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family, children and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter Michelle M. Teichman and Michael Barranti, of Hermleigh, TX, son Paul M. (David Carey) Krofchik, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandson Francis J. “Frankie” Teichman, IV and step grandsons Luciano and Ethan Barranti. Also surviving is her sister Carole (Barry) Breninghouse, of Lower Burrell. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Krofchik in 2021, brother Alfred “Fritz” Nitowski in 2001 and a nephew Gary Nitowski.
A private family viewing and services with her pastor, Very Rev. Vasyl Polyak were held in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial was private in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 339 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, PA 15084. VISIT: dusterfh.com
