Thomas A. Moret, 98, of Lower Burrell, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at Quality Life Services, Apollo. He was born October 8, 1927, in New Kensington to the late Augusto and Elena (Bottega) Moret. Thomas lived all his life in the Braeburn section of Lower Burrell. He was a Furnace Operator for Braeburn Steel, retiring in 1989. Thomas was a member of Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, Braeburn Fire Co., New Kensington Moose and was also a social member of the Lower Burrell VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, casinos, fishing, Pittsburgh sports, golfing, cooking and baking. Thomas especially enjoyed his family, children, grandchildren and a full glass of red wine or two. Special thanks to the staff and members of East Deer Personal Care Home and Quality Life Services in Apollo. All of which became second family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Linda K. Austin (Mike Bosko), of Gibsonia, Cynthia D. Martin, of Rockwall, Texas and Debra (Charles) Fantino, of New Kensington. Grandchildren, Kelli (Rick) Burns, Derek (Daniel) Austin, Kristopher Aveard, John Reed (Stephanie)Brown,Jr., Aaron (Samantha) Brown, Kathryn (Oscar “OJ”) Hall and Emma (Adam) Coury, Chelsea (Sergio) Pampena, Laura Aveard and Richard Aveard; 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Jennie Iozzi, of Lower Burell and Bernadette (Theodore) Paulovich, of East Deer. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Kathryn S. (Polarinakis) Moret in 2016 and his brothers Gino, August and William Moret.
Visitation, Friday from 2-4PM and 6 PM until the time of blessing service at 7PM in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 with Father Daniel Blout, officiating. Burial will be private. VISIT: dusterfuneralhomeinc.com
