Thomas A. Myford

May 3, 1947 — July 16, 2018

Thomas A. Myford, 71 of Sarver, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.  He was born on May 3, 1947, a son of K.L. and Melda Cribbs Myford.  Tom was a 1965 graduate of Har-Brack High School.  In 1968, he married Darlene (Hilberry) Myford, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 22nd.   Tom was a devoted and selfless husband and father who always gave the most sound advice.  He graduated from Point Park University with a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering and was employed by Allegheny Ludlum where he retired after 30 years of dedicated service.  Tom was a faithful member of Cabot United Methodist Church.  In 2003, he was granted a second chance at life when he received the amazing gift of a liver transplant, and he was forever grateful to the donor and family.

Tom enjoyed working around the house, fishing with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events, riding his motorcycle, coaching youth sports, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.  He lived his life to the fullest and one of his greatest passions was creating priceless memories traveling with friends and family.

He was the beloved husband of Darlene, the loving father of Megan Chase of Punxsutawney, Matthew (Mandy) Myford of Springdale, and Adam Myford of Brackenridge.  Tom was the cherished “pap” of Abigayle and Benjamin Myford, and Zackary and Brock Siple.  He also leaves behind two sisters, Darla Schriver of Mooresville, North Carolina,  and Merna Durand of Bear, Delaware, and also his faithful four-legged companion Doogan.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by Sisters Judith Surgent and Debbie Rozas, and brothers James and David Myford.
