Thomas Tady, Jr.

Thomas Tady, Jr., 90, of New Kensington, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Concordia at Rebecca Residence, Allison Park. He was born November 8, 1931 in Russellton to the late Thomas and Anna (Pokopac) Tady, Sr. Thomas lived most of his life in New Kensington. He retired from PPG Glass, Creighton after 20 years. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Tarentum. Thomas was a US Army veteran and served in the Korean War from 1952-54  and was honorably discharged in 1961. He served in 1977 with the Johnstown Flood National Guard, and served in the National guard for 25 years and was honorably discharged and retired from the reserves in 1986. Thomas worked at the Nike Missile site for several years in the Army National guard. He loved listening to Polkas and attending dances that his nephews Dick Tady and Jack Tady played at. He also liked to travel, but he most of all loved attending sporting events that his grandson participated in.

                Survivors include his daughter Michele (Chris) Gentile, of New Kensington; grandson Dylan Thomas Gentile; his sister Ann Baila, of Oakmont and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Bogin) Tady in 1996, brothers Jacob, George and John Tady and sisters Marie Sovitski, Helen Radko and Barbara Saunders.

                A private family visitation and Parastas were held in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10^th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526 with Rev. Vasyl Polyak, officiating. Private burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Lower Burrell with military honors. VISIT: dusterfh.com
