Tonya M. Shrum

            Tonya M. Shrum, 40, formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away at home Wednesday, July 7, 2021. She was born March 25, 1981 in Harrison Township, daughter of Donna (Black) Mell, of Natrona Heights and the late James A. Shrum. Tonya lived most of her life in Pittsburgh and was of the Lutheran faith. She was a 1999 graduate of Highlands High School where she was a majorette. Tonya enjoyed reading and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

            In addition to her mother, survivors include her children Simon Hinton, of Pittsburgh, Brooke B. Rutkowski, of Natrona Heights; sisters Tammy L. Mell, of Natrona Heights and Terri L. Galvach, of Plum Boro. Also surviving is her fiancé Darel Hinton, of Pittsburgh, twin nieces, Samantha and Allie Galvach, of Plum Boro and niece Skylar Labonte, of Natrona Heights. Besides her father she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Victor and Nancy Petracca.
