Valerie I. Beer

Valerie I. Beer, 85, of Lower Burrell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Memory Meadows Personal Care Home. She was born November 21, 1939 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of late George Podhurcak and Mary Rabik Podhurcak. She lived in Lower Burrell for the past 50 years and was a 1957 graduate of Springdale High School. Valerie was a dedicated member of St. Margaret Mary Church and actively volunteered for Meals on Wheels, as well as the Prison Ministry. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting and movies.

Valerie is survived by brother Michael Kennedy of Roswell, GA; sister Joann (Peter) Protopapa of Aurora, IL; sister Monica Klubert of Naperville, IL; son Kenneth D. (Terri) Beer, of Bethel Township; daughter Kimberly (Edward) Lynam, of Lower Burrell; son Kevin (Deborah) Beer of Allegheny Township; son Keith Beer of Long Beach, CA; daughter Kristen (Gregory) Fesenmyer of Keller, TX; and five grandchildren Lauren (Timothy) Orr, Elyssa Beer, Megan (Daniel) Beer-Barson, Benjamin (Jordyn) Fesenmyer, and Alexa Fesenmyer. Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by beloved husband Kenneth W. Beer and grandson Lucas Lynam.

A private family visitation was held in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. However, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, Lower Burrell.
