Our Grammy, Valerie Fay McGuire,77, of Brackenridge, passed peacefully Wednesday March 20, 2024 with family by her side - the way she wanted; choosing to leave this world on her terms - as to be expected.
As her family, we could never be ready; to us she was invincible, and we took the fact that she was just human like the rest of us for granted. An infinite amount of time more with her would never be close to enough.
We do take some comfort in the fact that she knew she was beyond loved - shown by how spoiled she was by her kids and grandkids. She could have whatever she wanted; she knew it and reveled in it.
She was loving, hilarious, warm and comfortable, the strongest shoulder to cry on, and the first person you wanted to tell your accomplishments to. She was also stubborn, hard-headed, opinionated, eccentric, sassy as all hell...she was perfect. A better Grammy could never exist.
Her life and love will continue on through her children and grandchildren, the memories they all share of her and the daily stories they will tell; her daughters Lydie (Jeff) Baker and Wendy Rittman; grandchildren Kaytlyn (Shae) Knight, Lindsey (Caleb) Novotny, Levi Wimer, Ethan (Emily) Wimer, Lauren (Shawn) Kiser, Caleb Wimer, Jeffrey Baker Jr, Morgan Schutzler, and Nora Schutzler; and her great-grandchildren Alyese, Gemma, Paige, Adalae, Trawin, and Avery.
Previously departed is her son, Ronald Wimer Jr, with whom she shared a special bond and deep love of Bigfoot.
She also leaves behind our Pop-Pop, Frank Palko Jr, who adored her and will miss her immensely.
She was a necessary piece in our lives, and we are all a little less whole without her.
We look forward to the hauntings that she promised.
You are the wind beneath our wings.
