Virginia Irene Wygonik

Virginia Irene Wygonik, 89 of Natrona Heights, passed away Saturday, August 20,2022 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Pittsburgh. She was born February 1,1933 in Brackenridge, a daughter of the late Cecil and Cecelia (Markwell) Grossman.

Virginia lived 40 yrs.  in Florida, and recently returned to Natrona Heights. Virginia was a member of the Women’s Army Corp during the Korean conflict.

She was a member of Guardian Angels Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights and the Palatka Florida American Legion Post 45.

Virginia was a homemaker and also worked as a telephone operator at Mt. Sini Hospital in Miami, Florida.

A graduate of Har Brack High School in 1951, Virginia enjoyed reading, playing cards, but she especially   enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Catherine M. (David) Bowser, Natrona, Cecilia A. Wygonik, Brackenridge, Edward J. (Laurie) Wygonik Jr. Natrona Heights, Martin J. (Crystal) Wygonik, Waynesburg, Carol L.  Wygonik, Springdale, Paul (Rebecca) Wygonik, Tarentum, and David J. (Heather) Wygonik, Natrona Heights. Also surviving are 12 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren, a brother Cecil Grossman of Allegheny Twp, and a sister Lelia Jean (John) Wojcicki) of Newbury, Florida.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas   of Natrona Heights, and a sister Marion of Huntsville, Alabama.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Duster Funeral Home,Inc. 347 East 10^th Avenue, Tarentum, Pa.15084 724-224-1526. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights.
