William H. Breyak, 86, of Frazer Township, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Presbyterian Sr. Care in Oakmont, following a brief stay. He was born July 12, 1935 in Harwick to the late John and Angela (Klikoszowska) Breyak. William lived most of his life in Frazer Twp. and was of the Christian faith. He attended several specialized art schools in Chicago, ILL and Pgh, PA, afterwards applying his talents for good use over 20 years. He touched many lives teaching art, judging and creating art exhibits in this area. He also promoted the arts in New Kensington.
He worked for American Can Co. in Chicago as a package designer before opening his own art school, The Art Institute of New Kensington, renamed Oakbridge Academy of Arts. After selling the art school he continued on as owner of Art Framing Etc., first in Blawnox then Cheswick. His many talents besides art and framing included landscaping where he ran his own high lift and the very old Kabota tractor from morning till night. We could hear the hum of the very old tractor.
He was a member of the New Kensington Rotary and a graduate of New Kensington High School. William especially enjoyed spending time with his family, children, grandchildren and loved old cars.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ruth D. (Parkhill) Breyak; his sons Mark Breyak, of FL, Daniel (Mary) Breyak, of Minnesota and Steven (Haruka) Breyak, of Osaka, Japan; 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Also surviving are 2 step daughters Deanne Burkett, of New Kensington and Tracy (Joel) Petri, of Raleigh, NC; 5 step grandchildren and a brother Edward (Dorothy) Breyak, of Allison Park. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 1 brother and 5 sisters.
Visitation Thursday July 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Friday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 AM in the Duster Funeral Home, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Burial will be private. VSIT: dusterfh.com
