William R. George, 69 of Tarentum passed away Friday, January 9,2026 at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh following a brief illness. He was born on January 19, 1956 in New Kensington to the late Michael F. and Patricia (Fazekas) George. Bill lived the past 30 yrs in Tarentum, and prior to that lived in New Kensington, and Buffalo Twp. Bill was an electrician retired from Armstrong County Hospital, and was of the Catholic faith.
A former fire chief for the Sarver Volunteer Fire Company, Bill was formerly a member of Eureka and Summit Hose fire departments, as well as a PA State Fire Instructor. He was a 1974 graduate of Freeport High school, and received associate degrees in electrical technology and fire science.
Bill enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks with family and friends, hunting and fishing, boating, was an avid Bruce Springsteen fan, traveling with his late wife Patricia to many of his concerts. His favorite pastime of all was spending time with his family, and granddaughter Cora.
Survivors include his children, Christine Marie George, Tarentum, and Michael W. (Jackie) George, Buffalo Twp, and his beloved granddaughter Cora A. George, of Buffalo Twp, and his sister, Diane (Charles) Ray , Bethesda, MD. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (Davidek) George in 2023.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 16 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 East 10th Avenue, Tarentum where a blessing service will be conducted on Saturday at 10:30 AM.
