William J.” Bill” Lang ,Sr. 78 of Freeport passed away on Wednesday ,August 4th peacefully at home with his family by his side. Bill was born December 27,1942 in Harrison Twp, a Son of the late Adolph L. and Marie E. (Riddle) Lang. He was a resident of Freeport the past 41 yrs,and prior to that Bill lived in Sarver, and Frazer Twp. Bill was an Ingot stripper at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp in Brackenridge for 38 yrs, retiring in 2004. He was a US Army veteran,a member of St.Mary R.C. Church, Freeport, and a member of the former Belgium Club, Eagles, and the Jednota Club all in Tarentum, as well as the Frazer Sportsman Club. An East Deer High School graduate in 1960, Bill enjoyed hunting, was a Pgh sports fan ,working around his house ,but he especially enjoyed his family, children, and his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 51 yrs ,Loretta H. ( Janello ) Lang his Son, William J. (Nichole) Lang , Jr. of West Deer Twp. Grandchildren , Casandra ,Shane, Cheyenne and Austin Lang , as well as 4 Great Grandchildren. Also his siblings, James A. (Jane) Lang, Chasta Lake, Calif, Joseph Lang, Creighton, David (Michelle) Lang, Apollo, Jean (Jeff) Dorobek), Vickery,OH, and Marie (Frank) Thiry, Lower Burrell. Besides his parents Bill was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Marie, and a brother Ronald Lang. Visitation will be on Sunday,Aug 8th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Duster Funeral Home,Inc. 347 East 10th Avenue, Tarentum (724)224-1526 where a Blessing service will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 AM with his Pastor,Monsignor Gilbert Gente Officiating .
