William J. "Bill" Maroney

William J. “Bill” Maroney, 82, of Buffalo Township, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Quality Life Services, Worthington. He was born July 17, 1942 to the late William Y. and Martha L. (Woolslayer) Maroney. He lived most of his life in Buffalo Twp. and was a Plutonium Technician for Westinghouse Electric in Cheswick for over 30 years and after his retirement he worked for W.L. Roenigk as an aide on a school van, which his wife drove for 6 years. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Buffalo United Presbyterian Church, Buffalo Twp. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 644 in New Kensington and the Director’s Staff at the Syria Shrine. Bill was a 1960 graduate of Oakmont High School and enjoyed traveling, card playing and watching nature from his porch. He especially enjoyed his family and grandchildren.

 Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Linda R. (Sutton) Maroney; daughter Bobbie L. (Jerry) Stillions, of Murrysville; grandson Joseph Robert Stillions, granddaughter Chelsey Marie Maroney and great granddaughter Holly Josephine Maroney. Also surviving is his sister Janice “Sis” (Toney) Kirk, of Alamogordo, NM and extended grandchildren Victoria and Braden Hoberg, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Joseph E. Maroney in 1996.

Visitation 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday and Tuesday from 9 -10 Am in Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 E 10th Ave, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 am in Buffalo United Presbyterian Church, Buffalo Twp, with Rev. Jean Smith, former pastor. Burial will be in Buffalo United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Buffalo Twp. Masonic Lodge 644 will hold services in the funeral home on Monday at 7PM.
