Zachary Thomas Smith

Zachary Thomas Smith, 24. Of Tarentum, passed away Sunday, April 19, 206 at St. Margaret’s Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born December 28, 2021 in Pittsburgh, PA. Zachary was the son of Dwayne E. and Leslie (Griffith) Smith, of Tarentum. Zachary was a life-long resident of Tarentum. He was a 2023 graduate of The Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind, and attended Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh. Zachary enjoyed music, especially Christmas music and his favorite song Happy Birthday. He loved his favorite toy guitar, golf cart, and spending time at camp at Lake Milton, OH and spending time with the seasonals at camp.

Besides his parents he is survived by his uncles, Dean (Kim) Griffith, Dan (Anna) Allshouse, Donald Smith, Jr., Douglas Smith, Deborah (Harold) Patchell, Darlene Smith and Darrell Smith. Also surviving are several cousins and many special friends. Zachary was preceded in death by his siblings, Matthew, Brooke D. and Kelly M. Smith; paternal grandparents Donald and Carolyn Smith and maternal grandparents Wilbur and Beverly Griffith.

A memorial service for Zachary will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10 AM in Dorseyville Alliance Church, with Pastor Mark Conklin, officiating. Burial will be private.
